The Sikhote-Alin meteorite is a guest from space, a piece of something very mysterious and unusual. In simple terms, it is an iron meteorite that disintegrated upon contact with the atmosphere and fell as a meteor shower. A unique and inimitable specimen, there is no other like it. Fell in the Primorsky Territory in the Sikhote-Alin mountains (taiga in Ussuriysk), near the village of Beitsukhe. Fall time 10 hours, 38 minutes. Date: February 12, 1947. It consists of iron - 94%, nickel 5.5%, cobalt 0.38% and small amounts of chlorine, carbon, sulfur and phosphorus.
